For everything there is a season
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: (…) I perceived that there is nothing better for them than to be joyful and to do good as long as they live; also that everyone should eat and drink and take pleasure in all his toil—this is God’s gift to many.
There is a season for everything. For us right now it is again the season to say good bye. For the past few weeks we’ve been seeing somebody for the last time almost every single day, before we will be gone for a long time. That can sometimes be pretty sad and disheartening. Which is why these verses in Ecclesiasts have been very encouraging to us. For everything there is a season (also for fare wells), but in doing this we want to be joyful and view it as a gift from God that we can be hopeful also in all the good byes. Sometimes saying good bye and feeling the pain helps you realize how many dear and precious people you are surrounded by and only when you can’t take something for granted you recognize their true value.
Looking back on the last two Months we are very thankful that we had so many encouraging moments together with you. Thank you for that! Thanks also for all of you, who support us so sacrificially with finances, prayer and other important things. You guys are the best!
We are blessed by God and through you and as such we want to take the next step and get on the plain in a few days (3. Aug). With lay overs in Addis Abeba (Ethiopia) and Lubumbashi (Congo) we will (hopefully) arrive safely on Aug 4 in Zambia.
For sure we will write you some notes about our first impressions of the country.
See some pictures below from the last 2 Months here in Germany.
Absolutely thrilled to get your photos and news of your travels together. It was a joy Carmen, to read both your testimonies too.
Took me back when we were in Sydney, ‘partner’ and to see what God has been doing since you arrived in your homeland.
It is such a personal encouragement to be reminded what God did at Capernwray Australia when we were there.
Please keep us on your newsletter please.
Be assured of our love and prayers, from New Zealand. God continue to richly bless you both.
Thanks Thelma & Haldane! Yes God has done a lot and he never stops doing so…
